2016 Scholarship Awards

We are PROUD to announce the 2016 Susquehanna Township High School Alumni Association's 2016 Scholarship recipients Zoe Clark and Rhyce Hammaker.  Each recipient received a $750.00 check during the May 9th Senior Awards Night.

Zoe, the daughter of Deborah and Frederick Clark, will attend Susquehanna University with a double major in International Diversity Studies and Sociology.  Zoe’s dream is to create programs that capitalize on the importance of diversity is schools, churches, and the workplace. 

Zoe's community service includes being a Tree 4 Hope volunteer where she has travelled to Guatemala several times to work in an orphanage and elder care center.  In addition, Zoe volunteered in the rebuilding efforts in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.  Her volunteerism and community service extends to Helping Hands and Lutheran Hands, among many others. 

Zoe, a gifted musician, participates in Select Concert Choir and as a vocalist in the Jazz Band. 

Rhyce, the son of Tammi and Daniel Hammaker, will attend Kings College, where he will be in the 5 year Masters Physicians Assistant program.  Rhyce’s passion is helping people especially those with health challenges. 

Rhyce has been a long-time participant in the now Alumni Association sponsored and student-led Pink Out Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.  He served as student leader the past two years.  With his participation and guidance, the Pink Out Breast Cancer Awareness campaign has raised over $42,000. 

Including Pink Out, Rhyce has volunteered over the years assisting the alumni association at various fundraising events, Helping Hands, STHS Mini-thon and Lap-a-thon.

Rhyce is a three sport participant; Swimming Baseball, and Cross Country.  As a swimmer, Rhyce was Captain the past two years, where he was a Conference, District, and State medalist. He also swam in the Junior Olympics.  In addition, Rhyce travelled to St. Thomas, VI over the summer representing Harrisburg in a baseball tournament.
